Stress and Tension Headaches

With stress such a common issue in life today, it's no wonder that more and more people are complaining of tension headaches. In fact, what you may know of as 'tension headaches' are frequently being referred to now as 'stress headaches'. But what causes these headaches, and how can they be treated naturally? Tension headaches are indeed the most common type of headaches, and may appear only once or twice a month, daily, or anywhere in between. The majority of people experience these headaches as mild and short-lived, but they may last for several days. The pain tends to be throbbing, affecting the front, top, and sides of your head, as well as the back of your neck and possibly the muscles in between your shoulder blades as well. Irritability, trouble sleeping, and mild sensitivity to light are also common. These headaches often appear during the day, and do not affect your vision, balance, or strength, and so usually you are still able to perform normal daily activities. Stress appears to be the leading cause of tension headaches, but scientists have yet to specifically determine why. Most likely, it's because when you're stressed, the muscles around your neck, head and eyes get tighter. In addition, it's believed that the following may play a role in the formation of these headaches: hormones sleep issues poor posture chronic fatigue poor diet excessive exercise Conventional medical treatment usually involves over-the-counter pain relievers such as aspirin, ibuprofen, acetaminophen, and various combinations of drugs that may also include caffeine and/or codeine. Unfortunately, over-use of these medications can sometimes trigger tension headaches, and so use of them is suggested only with monitoring by your doctor. Acupuncture is excellent for treating tension headaches, as it helps your body in a variety of ways. For example, acupuncture has been shown to help decrease pain levels, as well as lowering the tension in your muscles. Plus, your hormone levels can be balanced (increased or decreased where needed) and stress levels can be greatly diminished through acupuncture treatment. Massage therapy can help reduce the tension in your neck, shoulders, and upper back. Your trapezius muscles, for example, are often quite tight when you experience tension headaches regularly. Furthermore, massage therapy can help stimulate endorphins, thus assisting in making you feel better. There are indeed many other natural therapies that might help your tension headaches. Yoga, for example, can help you to improve your posture and tone your muscles. Psychotherapy can help you learn to handle stress better, and perhaps reduce the number of tension headaches that you experience. On your own, try closing your eyes and gently rubbing your temples for a few minutes. This may relieve some of the pressure. Also, try taking a warm bath with Epsom salts, and make sure that you are drinking plenty of water on a regular basis. Finally, try adding some fish oil supplements to your diet, as this may help reduce some of the inflammation in your muscles.

Cleansing Your Body Naturally!

Are you feeling tired, sluggish, and weighty of late? Do you get up with a painful body and a bad digestive system? Do you often find acne and other skin-related issues bothering you? It is high time you got rid of those toxins from your body! Your body too is a machine that requires cleansing and recharging thoroughly, for it to run smoothly! This is all about rejuvenating your body by way of cleansing, eliminating poisonous chemicals from the body and nourishing it for it to maintain a normal system and an overall health. The Chinese and the Indians have been practicing this art since ages. The how of it It all boils down to cleansing the liver, which takes up the task of eliminating the poisons from the blood; although, they are also eliminated from lungs, intestines, skin, kidneys, and lymph nodes. It basically involves resting the body by resting the organs via fasting; boosting removal of wastes through the kidneys, skin, and intestines; bettering blood circulation; and recharging the body with nutrient-rich diet. How often do you cleanse and how to begin Go for it once a year, a safe and effective one. However, children, feeding mothers, and certain patients with degenerative diseases must avoid it. Consulting your physician is suggested before you go ahead with a plan. Start with wiping out caffeinated beverages, sugars, cigarettes and saturated fats which obstruct the healing process. Clear the shelves of all chemical-based cleaners used in the house and for personal use, and go for natural products. Yoga and meditation, the de-stressors, go a long way to begin relaxing your body so no more toxins are released. What suits you the best? Many a cleansing programs are 7- or 5-day long, and you could choose from them based on your body requirements. They may include liquid diets (vegetables and fruit juices), hydrotherapy, all-fruit diet, juice therapy, etc for resting the gut. Others include herbs usage, skin-brushing/polishing to improve circulation and of course, exercise, and oil-pulling. Hydrotherapy involves drinking only water once a week. Besides, supplements available commercially enriched with vitamins, fibre, herbs, minerals and nutrients can be used safely. Other ways to cleanse your system is by having lots of fresh fruits, veggies, especially cabbage, spirulina, seaweed, broccoli, radishes, good detoxifiers. Drinking green tea and taking vitamin C helps too. Pranayam improves circulation, so do hot baths and sauna baths. Dangers of cleansing But beware, these are quick fixes that are not at all advocated for weight loss, as there's involved a quicker regain of the weight lost due to low-cal diet. The initial weight loss is thus only a loss of water and not fat, regained faster than it is lost. Feeling dizzy due to low blood sugar, fatigued and nauseated are a few of the side effects of such cleansing procedures owing to electrolyte imbalance of the body. A better way to cleanse is by consuming healthy, nutrient-rich, natural/organic less-processed foods, lot of water, fibre-rich foods like whole grains, high-protein, low-fat foods. So now kick start cleansing your body of dangerous chemicals in a healthy and beneficial way!

Changes to Your Diet and Multiple Sclerosis

Healthy Eating is an important factor in everyone's well-being, but it's especially important for people suffering with autoimmune diseases and other chronic illnesses, such as Multiple Sclerosis. The old expression, "You are what you eat," is absolutely true. There has been a great deal of research that points to the benefits of eating healthy. This research also lets us know what we need to eat to improve our health. Most of the research points to eating a low-fat (especially saturated fat) and low-carb diet. The Swank Diet, developed by Roy Swank, M.D., former head of University of Oregon's neurology department, focuses on a low-fat diet. He has had amazing results with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) sufferers. Dr. Swank has spent over 35 years treating his patients with this diet and has had very impressive results. The Swank diet consists primarily of grains, vegetables and fruits with about 20 percent fat by calories. While this type of diet may be a little drastic for some, according to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society you can help your body and MS even if you make small changes at a time. Simple Changes to Your Diet That Will Help Your Body and Multiple Sclerosis 1. Portion control - reduce the amount of food you eat. Pay attention to how much food is on your plate. It's important to know what healthy portion sizes are. 2. Change your eating habits slowly - make it a point to have a healthy breakfast. Instead of bacon and eggs on a bagel, have an egg white omelet on whole grain toast. Better yet, have a bowl of rolled oats with fruit. Once you're comfortable with eating a healthy breakfast move on to lunch, and then dinner. And, slowly add more fruits and vegetable into your diet. 3. Have snacks - snacks help curb the appetite and also keeps your metabolism going steady. The key here is to eat healthy snacks such as baby carrots, fruits, nuts, and low-fat yogurt. 4. Go lean - limit the amount of fatty meats you eat and pay attention to portion control. Chicken, turkey and fish are healthy choices. 5. Focus - it's important to eliminate distractions while you're eating. It seems if you're distracted, you will eat more and be less satisfied. So, pay attention to what's on that fork or spoon. Along with the foods we should include in our diet, there are also foods that should be avoided to help our bodies function properly. Foods to Avoid to help Your Body and Multiple Sclerosis 1. Sugar 2. Processed foods 3. Fatty foods 4. Super sized portions 5. White bread According to Dr. Henry Zhen-Hong Lee, a NYS Licensed Acupuncturist and NCCA DPL Herbalist, sugar actually stops the immune cells from functioning. This is essential since you are then left with no line of defense. All evidence points to the fact that improving your eating habits will improve your health. Start today to make slow and steady changes in your diet so you will reap slow and steady benefits to your overall health. And, remember to discuss all changes to your diet with your doctor. The Benefits of Weight Loss for Back Pain Relief

Obesity is a growing epidemic that has affected both adults and children around the world. It is a condition where the fat tissues of the body are more than the required Body Mass Index (BMI) of 30. For instance, a 5 feet, 7 inches tall male and weighs 220 pounds have a BMI of 34 and is considered obese. Poor diet and sedentary lifestyles are known to lead to obesity. In turn, obesity significantly contributes to risk factors of coronary heart diseases, diabetes, respiratory problems, colon cancer, and high blood pressure. However, not everyone is aware that obesity is also the number-one contributor to back pain. Our spine is responsible for carrying the body's weight. When too much weight is carried, though, the spine can become stressed and overburdened. Over time, built-up pressure on the back can cause serious damage and result in conditions like osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, sciatica, herniated discs, back strain and other sources of excruciating back pain. Conditions Caused By Obesity You may try to ignore your weight gain, but you should never dismiss the fact that when you are obese, you may develop conditions leading to back pain. The following are some examples of this. The spinal disc serves a soft cushion or shock absorber between each vertebra of the spinal column. Because of injury or degeneration due to aging, these discs can swell and rupture resulting in wear and tear. The extra weight in the stomach carried by your spine also leads to the wearing and tearing of the spinal discs, and over time can lead to a herniated disc. A herniated disc may exhibit symptoms of numbness, muscle spasm, and weakness. Back pain only occurs when the nerve roots and the spinal cord around the vertebrae are pressed and pinched by the protruding disc. Herniated discs can also be a factor as to why a large number of obese people have sciatica, because nerves of the legs are pressed by herniated discs. Osteoarthritis, otherwise known as arthritis of the spine, is very common in obese people. The load carried by the spine increases the stress on the spinal joints and leads to the breakdown of cartilage. Symptoms may appear not only in the lower back, but also in the weight-bearing joints like in the hands, hips, knees, and neck. Weight loss is recommended, but in extreme cases, joint replacement may be feasible, and of course surgery can bring about risk of other health complications, as well. Lordosis is the abnormal curving of the lower back. The spine is as one with the pelvis. When it moves forward or back, left or right, or as it rotates, the spine adjusts right along with it. Lordosis is developed when the excess weight carried in the midsection pulls the pelvis forward leading to the tightening and straining of the lower back. People with lordosis may also suffer from tension, immobility, stiffness, and pain in the lumbar area and surrounding affected area. Benefits of Weight Loss For Back Pain Relief The obesity epidemic did not happen overnight. Industrialization, modernization, and our sedentary lifestyles have made a tremendous impact to our eating behaviors. With fast food restaurants everywhere, convenient supermarkets, and labor-saving devices, we no longer have to put forth much effort to produce and prepare our foods. Added to those are the high calorie and sugary foods that we love to eat. Obesity is a result of an energy imbalance where you eat too many calories and do not get enough physical exercise to burn them off. Sadly, being overweight can add strain to the ligaments and muscles of the back. Our spine can become stressed, lose its natural strength, become tilted, or develop an unnatural curvature. While weight loss can help improve serious health problems, it is also common sense to think that it, too, can relieve back pain. If you are obese now, there are many ways available, such as dieting and exercise, that double its benefit for weight loss and restoring your overall health. Effective Exercise for Losing Weight And Back Pain Relief Though, exercise is recommended for all types of back pain, some conditions may need a few modifications, including just the right level of intensity and amount of time needed to do the exercise for safety and rehabilitation purposes. If pain follows your exercise, you may try gentler routines, such as Yoga, Pilates, and back strengthening exercises as an introduction to help condition your back. They may include stretching and low impact aerobic exercises that you can start doing for 15 minutes a day. To begin with, you can do a standing hamstring stretch. It is a great stretching exercise for your hamstrings and your lower back. You may also do this lying on your back for extreme back pain conditions. Stand tall with your right foot forward just a few inches in front of your left leg. Then, bend your left knee while pulling your abdominals slowly inwards. Next, lean forward perpendicularly aligning your shoulders and arms and rest both palms on your left knee for balance. You may repeat this 8 times both on each leg. Quadruped Opposite Arm/Leg Raise is also a great back strengthening exercise. For your starting position, you should be on all fours with your hands perpendicular to your shoulders and knees beneath your hips. Make sure back are naturally aligned and core is tight. Then, extend the left leg while simultaneously lifting the right arm until they are aligned with the body. Return to the starting position and repeat with your right leg and left arm. Side plank is best for the abdomen, back, and shoulders. It doesn't require much movement, but does require strength and balance to hold the position. Lie at your side for your starting position. Next, lift your body off the ground with your forearm and side of your foot. Hold this position for 8 counts, tighten your core, and relax your shoulders. There are many more exercises that can both strengthen your back and help you lose weight. However, it is important that you also go back to the basic reason as to why you are overweight. A proper diet that includes low carbohydrate and high-fiber meals is more effective for weight loss when combined with exercise.

Belief Systems: Living a Happiness Versus Fear Based Life

Ponder this: It is announced that Sally will be receiving a promotion to the Director of Human Resources. Her former role was a manager in Accounting. Some of her peers come up and congratulate her on her new found success. It is clear that some of these people are sincere and others are buttering Sally up, looking for a new job and perhaps a promotion under Sally in her new role. Others don't bother to congratulate her. Some of these people are jealous of Sally's new role, even though they didn't have an interest in it, while others just go about their business as if nothing significant has happened. Have you ever wondered why some people react in certain ways while others react in a completely different way? Take a moment and think about the last time you experienced anger. Frustration. Admiration. Happiness. Loneliness. What was underneath those emotions? I would like to propose that emotions are simply a symptom of a reaction to your perception and that your perception comes from a system of beliefs that you have had ingrained in you since you were only a small child. A different way of saying this could be: You developed a system of beliefs by the time you were five or six years old based on your environment and parent's teachings. This belief system has formed the way you perceive the world because your brain runs your experiences and interactions through its filter. Therefore, all of your actions and reactions are simply a symptom of how you and your brain perceive the world. Emotions are a reaction to how you have interpreted a particular stimulus. The tricky thing about emotions is that they can feel so real because they are based on our individual perception. In fact, they are "real". The concern comes in when our emotions block our ability to ask ourselves where they are coming from and why we react this way or that. Not only can we mask our emotions, but our emotions can be a mask themselves. If all emotions could be boiled down into their rawest form what they be? Some experts theorize that all of our decisions are based on two basic emotions; i) happiness, and ii) fear. Think about some of the decisions you have made in your life, some very insignificant - what should I have for lunch today? And some very significant - should I change jobs? You can easily convince yourself that any or all of these decisions was based on wanting to feel happiness or to avoid fear. Sometimes it's a combination of both. Based on the experiences in my own life I would suggest that this is probably accurate to some degree. Perhaps these decisions aren't based on overwhelming happiness or fear but if you ask yourself why enough times and answer honestly I bet you will see there is a decision to feel happiness or fear lingering somewhere deep down in every single decision you make. For example, a close friend of mine often decides not to get groceries on a Sunday afternoon. He knows that getting groceries in a crowded store can be frustrating for him. Why is it frustrating? Because people get in my way and the line-ups are too long. Why is that frustrating to you? Because it is a waste of my time and I can't get the items I want, the shelves are always empty by the end of the weekend. You can see in the above example there is fear that my close friend won't be able to get the items he wants and he will waste his time. I'm certain this is not a gripping fear, nor is it something that would starve, him if Sunday was the only day in his week to get groceries. Alternatively, going on a Tuesday, when the shelves have just been restocked and the lines are small makes my friend happy. So what can one do to overcome this dilemma of two extremes? Of course the intent of this article is not to tell you to stop feeling. That is impossible and useless. Instead, become aware of your emotions from time to time in your life. Ensuring you are practicing introspection, mindfulness, and self-awareness. Are you hearing your own voice? Consider the beliefs that provoke your emotional reactions. Are they based on happiness or fear or a combination of the two? Consider if your beliefs and emotional reactions are affecting your decisions in a way that is beneficial to living your best life or if they are something that needs to be changed. It is possible to change a belief system that you have developed and unconsciously nurtured since you were a small child. It takes practice and doesn't happen overnight but it is possible with the right training. If emotionally you find conflict with your beliefs, it's a good indication that the belief is no longer serving you. There is nothing to say you must hold onto or blame others for beliefs that you were taught and nurtured before this time. The realization that it is no longer serving a purpose or even in some cases causing you psychological harm is enough to stop reconciling the past and focus on what you have in front of you.http://ezinearticles.com/?Belief-Systems:-Living-a-Happiness-Versus-Fear-Based-Life&id=7656097

Stress Symptoms and Extreme Exhaustion - Twelve Signs They're in the Danger Zone

Symptoms of exhaustion & stress can mean you need something more than a little nap. Extreme stress symptoms can mean adrenal exhaustion. This is such an important topic because it can signal you that you need to take effective steps right away to halt it before it progresses into far bigger health problems. If your adrenal glands fail to the point where they can't recover, you will be unable to: • manage salt and water balance throughout your body; • make a variety of hormones; • properly metabolize carbohydrates, proteins and fats; • manage stress except in a very narrow range; • make sex hormones; • raise your heart rate, blood pressure and breathing rate when needed. How can you tell if being constantly tired, feeling extreme fatigue is simply a need for a nice hot bath and a long sleep? The 'Dirty Dozen' - Twelve Ways to Tell: 1. Non-restorative sleep - you feel tired even after 10 hours of sleep. 2. Salt cravings - you may even want to put salt on salty foods like potato chips and bacon! 3. Sensitive to heat and cold - meaning you have poor temperature regulation and adjustment. 4. No chest hair - males have no chest hair and no hair on the outside of their calves. 5. Missing eyebrow hair -the medial third of eyebrow hair is either thin or missing. 6. Low blood pressure - your blood pressure is typically low ( the top number, or systolic is below 100 and the bottom number, or diastolic is below 60.) 7. Positive Ragland's sign - this is the difference between your blood pressure when you're lying down and your blood pressure when you're standing. A drop of more than 10 mm/Hg indicates adrenal exhaustion. 8. Orthostatic hypotension - You feel dizzy when first standing up. 9. Positive pupillary reflex sign - Light shown in your eye in a dark room constricts the pupil, but is unable to hold the constriction, instead it begins to pulse and dilate instead of staying constricted for at least 20 seconds. 10. Can't adjust to stress, pressure - You feel easily overwhelmed and unable to handle even normal or minimal amounts of pressure. 11. Tendency to hypoglycemia, hypothyroidism - You need to eat frequently to avoid feeling shaky and you tend toward being hypothyroid (you gain weight easily and are easily fatigued). 12. Brown, "old age" spots - You have brown spots on your skin - even on areas of your skin that are not exposed to the sun. Remedies: In addition to reducing your stress level to as low as you possibly can and eliminating stimulants, here are four top remedies to employ: 1. Whole food vitamin B. Best source is nutritional yeast, 2 tablespoons per day. Be sure to read the label before purchasing. Ingredients should say 'nutritional yeast' only. If it also lists any B vitamins separately, such as B1, B2, B6 etc., then it means the product also contains synthetic B's. Do not buy it, as these synthetic B's can damage your peripheral nerve plates. They also have to be detoxified by your liver, unlike whole food B's. 2. Whole Food vitamin C. Best source is to squeeze the juice of a 1/2 lemon into a little water and drink it. Do this several times throughout the day. 3. Consider Licorice Root. It contains various compounds that feed and support the adrenals. Consult with your holistic health professional about taking this, and tell him or her if you have high blood pressure or are pregnant or lactating, in which case it may be contraindicated. 4. Ashwaganda Root. This is an herb that's extracted from Withania somnifera root. It is considered to be trophorestorative to the adrenal glands; in other words, it helps the cells of the adrenal glands repair and also regenerate. Consult your health professional first if you are pregnant or lactating.

Some Useful Steps for Managing Anger

Every time that you lose your temper, you are in real danger of destroying relationships and close ties with the individuals that you care about. Nasty words yelled, or objects thrown in anger can frequently be tremendously hurtful to your loved ones. Also it can be challenging for them to comprehend precisely what went amiss to cause the reaction. Then after a while they will just stop trying to understand you and finally it will get more and more testing for them to forgive and forget. So managing anger is absolutely essential, not just for you, but for all the people who you come into contact with. The emotion of anger is your body's reaction to a thought, which probably has been activated by an outside state. And this state is viewed through the vision of your own understanding. Your vision is tinted by the mental ideas distinctive to you; ideas like right and wrong; like and dislike, goodness and evil. You need to keep in mind is that all of you has a different vision of things, therefore interpretation clashes are unavoidable. The first vital step on the road to managing anger is to realise that you have an anger problem. Once you realise this you will be well on the way to dealing with it. If you think back to any situations which made you very angry in the past, you will probably realise that your lack of control, in fact, made the whole problem a lot worse, and not better. But the good thing is, this is a significant realisation for you to make because when you recognise that you have a problem you will then know that you need to do something about it. If you begin to feel yourself starting to get angry what you need to do is to just take time out to stop, think about the situation and try to figure out just why you are getting angry. Very often the real source of the anger has nothing to do with the current situation, and pen-up frustrations from work can overflow into your home life causing unhappiness and distress for your loved ones and which they have no power over. As soon as you find out what is really producing the anger, the next vital step in managing anger is to do something about it. This is the bit where you possibly will need to bite the bullet and connect with the cause of your anger. It may well be that a person at work does something which continually makes you mad. So by talking about it with the person that annoys you the problem can be altered successfully. The thing is the person that annoys you probably does not even know that they are doing it. So just by talking over your problem you can essentially eliminate the cause of your anger and live a much more harmonious life with your work colleagues, family and friends. Good Luck!

What Is The True Meaning Of Success?

If you look up the meaning of 'success' in a standard dictionary, chances are the definition will be quite simple. As a word in its most basic form, success means exactly that - to succeed at something, to reach a goal or to essentially get something right as set out for. However, in the real world, the meaning of success differs for each and every person across the face of the Earth. For example, look into some of the most inspirational success quotes or larger success essays of all times, and you will be amazed to see that they will involve individuals with success meaning totally different and personal to every single of them. Why is this? Really simple - they had been pursuing very different goals with very different outcomes; therefore, while all may have been successful, they were successful in different ways. More often than not, when someone talks or quotes about success in life, they are talking about business or financial success and the resulting security that it brings along. As a matter of fact, some of the most commonly used and referred to assets on the web today are entrepreneur success stories shared by successful people in order to help others follow similar paths. As with many things in life, it can often be a case of following the examples of others and learning from the trials and errors they made along the way, in order to pursue success with the greatest chance of a positive outcome. There are dozens of synonyms for success and different ways of referring to it, but technically speaking, all that matters at the end is - a positive outcome. It's possible to succeed entirely by hard work and effort, just as it is possible to succeed by pure luck and perhaps a twist of fate - the result remains the same even though the process is very different. This is exactly why so many successful entrepreneur stories come from individuals who sweat by exact opposite approaches when it comes to making a business succeed. Some chose one road and some go entirely another way, yet both remain affirmations for success. To surmise: Success is the most colorful and desired picture that different people paint to their canvases entirely differently. The important thing is to understand that there isn't only a single path to success or a golden rule to guarantee a positive outcome - it's all about making the right decisions at the right times and for all the right reasons. Clutter Quickly Grows With Procrastination - And Even Kills!

You have decided that it is time to get rid of the clutter but now you don't know where to begin or how to start. Usually this means it gets put off for a lot of reasons. There is a lot going on in our lives. There is not enough time. It is easier to put off because it will take to long right now. Other things are more important and after all this can be done anytime, it's not a priority. But if you ever actually do get started you will find that getting organized doesn't have to take a lot of time every day. If you don't start, even in a small way there are some potentially bad side effects that could even kill you, as hard to believe as that might be. Clutter and disorganization affects your health in some very negative ways: It adds to your stress level. It saps your energy and makes you tired. It causes depression in many people. On the other hand you can gain some great benefits from getting organized and cleaning up the clutter: More sleep. You'll be in a better mood. You're relationships are improved. Your home will be managed much easier. You'll pay your bills on time. You'll make more space. You'll have more time for having fun. These are very real benefits from getting organized and it is time for you to get to them now. So what is stopping you? Does it still seem easier to put it off? Is it still easier to toss things into drawers and in closets and to pile things up around the house? To easy to ignore the simple "touch it once" rule? But still, clutter can be deadly and it is not a slow death from stress, it can and has been a very real death. Recently a woman in Washington was killed when stacks of dishes, boxes, and clutter fell on her. She was found under nearly six feet of junk, six feet of clutter. Take this poor woman's life back about thirty years. How many days went by when she procrastinated and said she would "get to it tomorrow." This is the tragic end that out of control clutter can bring you to. Unless you get your home and your clutter under control it could lead you to the same end. But you probably have a real desire to simplify and this too is causing you stress. Beginning is not that difficult and you can get past the lethargy and begin because stress is not good. Perhaps you are not anywhere as out of control as the woman who died and you just need to clear the clutter and bring order to your life. Perhaps you need to manage your bills and paper because you forget to pay bills sometimes and don't have a system to manage them. You've never been to concerned about it, after all what's a $35 late fee among friends? But, it does add up. Isn't now the time to begin ending the clutter and getting organized?

Magic of Goal Manifestation

What goals do you have for your life? If you have goals, is it just in your head? Or do you have a methodology to manifest them? A systematic process to think of anything you want, and ultimately acquire it. Sounds like magic, doesn't it? That is because by using a process, the results are so effective that it seems like something out of a fantastic anecdote. For the beginner, I recommend the following undemanding two-step process: First step: Elaborately envision the goal. For example, if your goal is to move into a new house by the middle of next year, then close your eyes and picture the house clearly. Be specific; for example, be exact about the neighborhood. And the smell... Imagine what everything would smell like! Can you smell your favorite food that you are cooking in your new huge kitchen? Can you smell the faint fragrance of the roses in the backyard through that open window? Can you get the soft whiff of the ocean as it roughly clashes on the rocks a few hundred feet from your balcony? Can you hear it? Can you hear the ocean? Can you hear the pale, but the unmistakably robust sound of the waves? Touch the leather on the recliner. Can you feel the abounding texture? Can you see the deep luxuriant color? Can you smell the plush tang of rich leather? If you have trouble conjuring up images of your own creation, then you must spend more time dreaming about the things, which make you happy. Certainly, if you practice the above exercise again, you will see the difference. You may need some practice in conjuring up your future reality. Second step: Write it down. Write it down in detail. Write it and read it. Read it every day. Do not forget those details that make the goals worth living. For example, do not just visualize the house, envision it with the people you feel affection for, and care for, in it with you. Take one goal at a time, and you will realize that how you acquire your objectives is not important, but the reasons you want to acquire them are. The reasons are the feelings you create in yourself, when you envision your dreams so unmistakably. There are many paths to the goal. In fact, there are infinite paths, with infinite variables intermingling at every possible junction. We often make the mistake of concentrating all our energies on this most complicated arrangement, instead of the goal itself. Remember, if you take one goal at a time, then there is only one goal, that one dream. All paths lead to that one goal. Concentrate on that, and everything in your life will be orchestrated to gently deliver you to your goal. In my most recent book, "If You Row, You Will Not Drift - Perfect Life Management - The Life Wizard", I take the techniques of management of the fortune 500 companies, and use them to run our everyday lives. So you can finally get organized and row ahead with a purpose. The secret here is the management of your thoughts, and its final direction toward everything that you want. As I conducted the goal manifestation process every time I thought of having something worthwhile in my life, the stronger my faith got. Perhaps it is the combination of vision, determination, and prayer. Or perhaps it is something so unexplained that the universe throws at us, which the humans cannot even conceive at the present time, but it works.

Personal Productivity Begins at Home

For the majority of people, home and family form the center of their lives. When things are going well at home, they tend to go better in all aspects of life - especially the levels of personal productivity. Factors that contribute to a harmonious home life are: loving, healthy relationships, finances, and an organized, clean, smooth-running household. Each of those could be discussed at length, but in this article let's look at the organized, clean, smooth-running household and why it is important. Home should be a haven, the place where we feel safe, can be ourselves, completely relax, laugh, play, work, and enjoy intimate relationships with family members. Of course, that is a description of the ideal home, and most homes are a variation of that description. However, the more organized, clean and comfortable it is, the better the description will fit. A messy home environment that lacks organization can be extremely stressful. It takes it toll on everyone and everything - especially on productivity for all member of the family. My mother used to say, "An organized home is the mark of an organized mind," and organization is a critical component of productivity. It is difficult to be productive when hours each day are wasted looking for things that you can't find, when you are stressed because the clutter surrounding you is disturbing and seems to reproduce itself on a daily basis, or when you feel like your life is out of control because there are not enough hours in the day to do everything that needs to be done. There are those who do not have a natural ability, nor were they taught as children how to create and maintain an organized home, but it can be learned - and is well worth the effort. Once it is done, it will make your life (and the lives of your family) much easier and more productive. If you are among those for whom the learning curve is going to be steep, be patient with yourself! Learning something new takes time and determination. Your fabulously organized home is not going to magically appear because you want it to - wishing will not make it so. You have to be committed to making it happen. So, how do you start? Create a Plan Use some type of organizer - a large desk calendar or a white board are both good choices. Create an overall plan, enlist the support of your family, if at all possible, and begin to move forward. First step is to identify each of the areas that need to be organized. Then, break down each area into smaller steps, and then even smaller. Also create a realistic timeline for each area. There is no doubt that your family is very busy and depending on the state of organization (or disorganization) in your household, the project could take a while. That is OK and to be expected. DO NOT try to tackle every thing at once. Once you have your overall plan in place with a realistic timeline, which could be over a period of weeks or months, begin working on the project in small chunks (a day at a time). Each evening, spend a few minutes planning what you are going to do the next day to organize your home and the way your family lives - then do it! Be realistic in your goals and make sure they are fulfilled each day. Small steps are easy, give you a sense of accomplishment, and as each is completed, momentum begins to build. AS you are planning each day, be sure to include meals, meal prep, appointments, children's activities, work schedules, and personal/family time. I recommend that you use Cozi Family Calendar to keep track of appointments, events, activities, and individual responsibilities. It also includes TO DO lists (you can have one per family member), and a journal, which could be used to document your journey through this new adventure. It can be accessed online and used by the entire family with only one user name and password. And... the best part - you can set up reminders that will send text messages to individual SmartPhones. I use it all the time. It has been an incredible tool for me and my family. Schedule House Cleaning Activities When I was growing up, certain things were done on certain days. Monday was wash day. Tuesday was ironing day. Wednesday was working in the yard, etc.... and Saturday was cleaning house day - top to bottom. I am completely serious - and it worked well. In fact, I recommend it. In the beginning, you will have to do some serious de-cluttering. Clean out your cupboards, your closets, and your garage - and your cars. Get rid of everything that you do not use - old electronic gadgets, garden tools, and all those things that you have kept because you "may use it someday." You will be amazed at how good this feels and the relief it brings. The best part is that there will be more room in the house to enjoy each other, to move, to play, and to work (business, personal and school assignments) - and believe it or not, there will be more room in your mind for clear thinking. Now for the fun part of the planning... Organize Family Activities Have regular mealtimes for the entire family - and make those sacred. These should be the time to relax, laugh, and talk about your day - as a family unit. Schedule a family day - or at least a family evening once a week - again, the time should be sacred time reserved for enjoying each other. Have a once-a-month family outing or project. For example, a picnic in the mountains, a day at the beach, serving at a local homeless shelter, taking a day trip to a local tourist spot, etc. Be creative. Have a different member of the family plan the day each month. The possibilities are endless. If you want all family members, including you, to increase their personal productivity levels - organizing the home and family is the place to start!

Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway

Feeling fear whenever you are thrusting yourself outside your comfort zone is a natural response. The challenge is to know when fear is justified and a reason to stop or when fear is just a normal part of the success journey and an opportunity for you to use the fear to sharpen your senses, where you confront the fear and go ahead anyway. When fear is justified, for example where you may be entering into a contractual agreement with someone that is less than trustworthy, it is crucial to listen to your inner voice and to use the fear you feel to protect yourself. On the other hand, any time you thrust yourself into unchartered territory, where you are pushed outside your self-imposed comfort zone, you will feel fear too. The challenge is to know when fear is real and justified and when it is just your natural desire to seek comfort and avoid pain. Super achievers have mastered this art and they very quickly identify whether fear is justified or whether it is just a normal fear that they are feeling because they are taking a calculated risk and are pushing the boundaries of their comfort zone. You need to invest time to develop this art, where you can very quickly tell if fear is justified or whether it is just your natural aversion to inviting some risk into your life. Feeling fear is a natural protection mechanism that is built into your brain to protect you from any pending danger. The way to enter the realm of super achievement is to very quickly know whether fear is justified or not and to confront your fear, where you feel the fear and go ahead anyway or when to realise that your fear is real and you must take action to avoid the danger. You can never get rid of your fear, but you can learn the art of confronting your fear and using it to your advantage. For example: Your fear of ignorance can be used to generate inspiration to constantly grow your knowledge. Your fear of poverty can be used to inspire you to work a little harder. Your fear of disease can inspire you to take better care of your body. The fear of losing your family can inspire you to remain faithful, work a little harder and show them love as often as possible. The secret to becoming and remaining a super achiever is to learn the art of quickly identifying the difference between harmful or justified fear or helpful fear or unjustified fear. As soon as you make the shift toward understanding how to use fear to your advantage you turn something that can be very limiting and restrictive into an asset that you can use to create massive success in your life. Once you have learnt the art of knowing when fear is real and justified or when it is just a natural response to your attachment to stability, it is time to introduce the art of daily discipline into your life. As Roy L Smith said "Discipline is the refining fire by which talent becomes ability." Daily discipline is the key to unlock your potential and to turn you into a high performance human being, who operates at levels of super achievement. Positive self-discipline, where you commit to carry out all the tasks you need to each day, puts you firmly in the driver's seat and over time, these consistent efforts will turn into the success you desire. Yes success does require a commitment to daily discipline and an investment of some of your valuable time, which will cost you something small each day. Failure on the other hand requires nothing from you each day, but the price you will pay in the long run will be massive. What choice do you want to make with your future?

Who Is The Person in The Mirror?

When my children were at an age where they could understand analogies I used "the person in the mirror." In trying to explain to them various virtues such as honesty, integrity, effort and many others I used "the person in the mirror." I explained to them that when they looked in the mirror the person looking back at them would always be 100% truthful. If I asked them a question and I thought they might not be telling me the truth, I would ask them "what would the person in the mirror say?" The look on their face would tell me before they even answered. When they began playing team sports I always preached to them, that they should always give 100% effort. If their team lost a game and they were feeling bad, I would ask them if the person in the mirror thought they played with 100% effort. I would tell them if the answer was yes, then I was proud of them and they should be proud of the way they played. I also told them that if the answer was no, then they should think about why and what they could do to make sure they gave 100% the next time they played. This philosophy carried them both through their college playing years. I credit this philosophy as a major reason why they each excelled both academically and athletically. When they entered the working world I told them that if they gave the same effort and asked "the person in the mirror" the same questions they did during their youth, they would succeed in their careers. I explained to them that the average person does not give 100% and that their effort would be easily recognized by any of their superiors. I think that "the person in the mirror" can serve us all well by answering questions such as. Did I give 100% effort today in my job? Am I truly embracing new concepts? Am I striving to learn new skills to improve my performance? Do I take responsibility for the results of my effort or do I look for someone or something to blame? Am I doing everything I can to be the success I say I want to be? If we ask these and other delving questions of" the person in the mirror", we can discover our weaknesses and begin to make the necessary changes to improve our performance.

How To Entertain A Thought

After studying scores of great thinkers like Leonardo Da Vinci, I think I've stumbled upon what really set them apart from the rest of the folks living (and thinking) at the same time. It's remarkably simple. They learned how to entertain a thought. Aristotle said, "It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it." Hmmm. To entertain a thought without accepting it. We need to do that. Everyone needs to learn how to be good host or hostess to new ideas. In fact, our goal should be to become the Martha Stewart of mental entertaining! What if you treated a new thought like a guest? It's easier to think about mental entertaining if we put together a to-do list, just like Martha. Here it is: #1 Make the first move. First of all, you issue an invitation. Nothing fancy. You don't have to make any major investment or lifelong commitment. You're simply inviting this person in. It's the same with initiating the entertainment of an idea. You might see a quote on the side of a bus somewhere, and decide you'd like to explore that concept more deeply. Or, maybe you find yourself bumping into the same topic all the time, and so you make up your mind to learn more about it. Either way, you need to be ready to initiate the process. Don't hide--you won't meet new ideas if you scurry away whenever the doorbell rings. #2 Prepare. Uh-oh. Your house is a mess. You'd better do some cleaning. You're not really trying to impress, but hey, you could certainly do some sprucing up and get the place looking neat and inviting. Prepare for a new thought in the same way. Make some space in your mind to think about something new. According to Deepak Chopra, the well-known author on health and longevity, the average human has 60,000 thoughts a day. Pretty impressive? Well, here's the kicker: 57,000 of those are the same ones you had YESTERDAY! Now that's some serious clutter! Get rid of a few of those dusty old thoughts and make room for new ones. #3 Offer a warm greeting. When your new guest arrives, be warm and inviting. After all, you're hoping to start a friendship. Put your best foot forward. It's the same with an idea. If you face it with skepticism, fear or detachment, you won't be entertaining it for long. You'll be eyeing your watch, yawning, or looking for a way to end the discussion early. You've got to be open and full of anticipation to prepare an environment in which new ideas will be explored and integrated fully. Just as it's no fair making lame excuses or having your friend call to interrupt the visit, it's also cheating to cut out too soon when it comes to entertaining an idea. #4 Make introductions. This is the big one. You would certainly introduce your guest to everyone at the party, with a special effort to connect them to those with whom they may have something in common. Any new idea you consider will be more likely to be welcomed if you actively and intentionally introduce it to your other ideas and interests. Look for unusual and inspired pairings. How does it fit? Where does it fit? DOES it fit? You won't know until you try. Picture Leonardo Da Vinci's mental entertaining. His new idea, Human Flight, arrives, and immediately Leo sets about introducing him to others. "Human, meet my good friend, Engineering, and his lovely wife, Fabric Design. Oh, and have you met Bird Anatomy? She lives just around the corner from you. Oh, Dr. Entomology has arrived! Listen, Dr. E is absolutely brilliant, but a bit hard of hearing. Ask her about her recent work on the wings of insects! Now, you all make yourselves comfy and I'll go get some more wine." What happened at that party? Leonardo threw these ideas together, and BAM! What emerged was the idea for a perfectly designed parachute as well as a remarkable helicopter--hundreds of years before the Wright brothers started building their flying machines! Talk about a soaring success! Don't you wish you'd been there? #5 Offer the best seat in the house. You usually sit in that nice chair there by the fireplace, but when a special guest comes over, you graciously offer it. When you are entertaining a new thought, give it the consideration it deserves. Every time you think a new thought, your brain is actually creating a new neural pathway. It's like a jungle in there, full of nerve endings and ganglia and all kinds of connections. Help it along. Make it comfortable. Once you've considered an idea, that pathway is there. All you have to do to keep it "live" is to keep going down that path often enough to clear the trail, but not so often that it becomes a rut. #6 Listen, inquire, and show interest. Ask questions. Dig a little deeper. Find the connections to other people, places, and activities. Learn as much as you can about your new idea. #7 Relinquish control. Just like when you introduce guests to each other, you should not try to control the outcome. Some guests might hate each other on sight, while others click instantly. People might argue, or a married guest might sneak off to a back room with someone other than their partner. Anything can happen! That's not up to you. You're having this party to offer an opportunity for people to connect. Make introductions, insert a few comments, smile and acknowledge everyone, but for the most part, just let things happen. Don't direct the flow of ideas. #8 Leave room for future possibilities. Even if you decide this guest of yours is insufferable, you don't want to burn any bridges. Be gracious, and be glad you were excellent enough to offer the invitation. You're not going to like every idea that comes your way. And you might not find any other interest or idea that connects with it initially. That's fine. You need to develop the ability to recognize useful concepts and distinguish valuable and valid ideas from those lacking a strong foundation. That's what critical thinking is all about. But you also need to file that idea away so that you can look it up if and when you DO meet a likely candidate for another gathering of thoughts. There is a great deal of room for different styles of mental entertaining. Maybe you're best at dealing with only two ideas at a time, or maybe you want to throw a huge bash and welcome all comers. Entertain in whatever style suits you. Tete-a-tete or bacchanal--it doesn't matter, as long as it's happening. Learn how to entertain a thought. With a little effort, you'll become a perfect host or hostess to new ideas that come your way. And guess what? You'll have no hangover, no cleaning up, and no regrets. Party on!

7 Tips on How to Be Happy

Happiness is a choice. It doesn't come from having more money, more stuff or from other people. It comes from inside you. From focusing on things you want, being grateful for what you already have and choosing peace instead of needing to always be right. Happy people live fulfilling, inspiring and joyful lives because they make deliberate choices and decisions every day towards attracting a life they love. The question is how? Happy people... 1) Learn to forgive. They understand that holding a grudge is detrimental to their health and causes unnecessary anxiety, stress and discomfort. By forgiving, you take your power back and are able to move onwards and upwards. 2) Are more compassionate and kind to others. When you are nice and treat others with kindness, your brain produces serotonin, a "happy" hormone that reduces stress and raises your spirits. Your compassion and kindness make people want to be around you, and that helps to build and maintain strong and meaningful relationships. 3) Live in the present moment. Typically if you feel depressed, you're living in the past and if you suffer with fear and anxiety you're focusing on the future. You will be much happier when you can focus on the here and now and feel much more in control of your life. 4) Are honest. Lying to yourself and others is stressful because after a while it's hard to keep your stories straight. While it may feel scary to find the courage to tell your truth, you will feel liberated once it's all out in the open. 5) Find opportunity in every challenge. When you go through life focusing on all your "problems", you will always struggle and suffer. Shift your perspective and view your problems as challenges. Then your creative juices start flowing and you open yourself up to a world of opportunities and new directions. 6) Have a healthy perspective. When happy people are faced with a problem, they ask themselves "Will this matter in a week, month, year from now?" They allow trivial situations to bounce off of them and find a calm and rational way to handle the bigger things that come their way. 7) Surround themselves with other happy people. Hanging out with people who raise you up, support you unconditionally and allow you to be who you truly are, warts and all, will make it much easier for you to remain happy. The more positive energy you can immerse yourself in, the better you'll feel about yourself and your life. Action Challenge Start implementing one or more of the suggestions listed above and make the deliberate choice to be happy. Personal Goal Development

It has been said that the world makes way for a person who knows where he or she is going and that we are happiest when engaged in activity that has meaning and purpose. However in reality the vast majority of people have little or no idea of where they are headed, one week, one month or one year form now. Research reveals that less than five percent of the population have actually determined and ultimately worked out a written plan for achievement of specific goals. Additionally those who in fact plan, quite often restrict those efforts to financial and career planning, they hardly ever set goals or plan for other life areas, such as family, physical, social and mental development. Your Personal Goal Program Goal setting begins by establishing the relationship between where you are now and where you want to go; the more clearly you understand your goals the more likely it is that you will do whatever it takes to achieve them. Specific goals yield specific results; unclear or hazy goals usually produce no results. Why Written Goals and Plans Writing goals forces you to clarify your thinking. Reviewing written goals serves as a reminder of your objectives. Written goals will keep you focused. Writing a goal eliminates the danger of it being altered by the passage of time. Written goals offer a standard by which to measure progress The process of writing and clarifying your goals and thought process typically generates new thoughts and ideas. The more emotionally involved you are with your goals the more likely that you will accomplish them. My name is Dominick Borzomati and I am a BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT COACH. Self-Improvement Tips : How to Be a Better Person

How Core Beliefs Become Learning Behaviors

Enriched learning is all about the effective absorption and integration of new material. The more you know about the concepts, the more you will find out things unknown to your parents, to teachers, and even to neuroscientists just a decade ago. For instance, ninety-five percent of your behavior reflects patterns and habits mostly acquired when you were very young. Because our educators and caregivers didn't know any better, most of us grew up with ineffective study habits. Countless hours have been wasted in classrooms and in home study, and have often yielded frustration, self-limiting beliefs, and low self-esteem. However, there's no need to take it anymore! No matter what your age, you can learn successfully and with delight. Freud popularized the concept of the subconscious (or what is sometimes also called the unconscious or the non-conscious). Although your conscious mind plays an important role, learning has much more to do with non-conscious processing than with conscious thought. Remember that, as you learn how to nourish and develop it, your mind's chief responsibility is your protection; in fact, your survival. Let me use an analogy to explain the power of the subconscious mind. If your feet are flat on the floor, the area under your feet corresponds to the processing ability of your conscious mind. The floor area in the room not covered by your feet represents the power of your subconscious mind. Your conscious mind operates at around 126 bits per second, and your subconscious mind is 10,000 times faster. Clearly, the power is really in the subconscious. As a therapist, I have found that most issues that adults present to me originate in their first seven years of life. This imprint phase of social development is at a time when the conscious mind is not yet fully developed, before growth of a vital filter to assess incoming information's validity, the so-called Critical Faculty. Well aware of this, advertisers use the term Critical Faculty Bypass when weighing the effectiveness of advertisements. If the advertising message gets through to the emotional subconscious mind, then the likelihood of purchase increases. What does this have to do with learning? Quite a lot. Read on. If life-long patterns are set in the first seven years of life, then it's important for parents, older siblings, coaches, teachers, and any other influencers to be extremely careful with their language, both verbal and non-verbal. If a parent says, "You're just like your father. You'll never amount to anything" or "It's a good thing you're cute, because you're not very smart". The messages go directly, in the absence of a strong Critical Faculty, to the subconscious where accepted as valid, they begin to form patterns and beliefs. Subsequent fractured self-esteem and self-doubt results. Elephant trainers use an interesting control technique. When an elephant is still very young, the trainer attaches one end of a strong chain to one of the elephant's legs, and the other end to a stake. This allows the animal the freedom of a very defined circle, and, harnessed day after day, the elephant learns that this circle is its only territory. As the years go by, the chain is progressively exchanged for thinner and thinner ropes. The trainer knows that the elephant could walk away at any time, but the elephant doesn't catch on, and so remains within the defined circle. Important questions for you from this are: What's your circle? What are your self-limiting beliefs? Bestselling author and international speaker, Brian E. A Simple Formula For Overcoming Worry and Fear

If you ask most people why they have not achieved their goals or the level of success they desire, they will usually respond with some built-in excuse (negative belief) that is holding them back. Underlying this excuse or negative belief is usually a fear or worry. How many times have you attempted something new, only to stop before you ever got started because you were afraid of what others may think? Or you don't think you have the time or money or both? Or because you believe are inexperienced or lack the knowledge to succeed? Someone once defined F.E.A.R. as False Evidence Appearing Real, which means we have chosen to believe in something that is not really true. But because it is our belief, it is our reality. Worry is nothing more than a sustained fear caused by indecision. Sometimes we need to ask some tough questions to determine the cause of these worries or fears. Once the fear is identified, a simple formula can be used to overcome that fear. The first step is to clearly define what you are afraid of or worried about. Write in down. Put in on paper. Half of your worries and fears will be solved the instant you can define them clearly by putting them on paper. What once seemed big in your mind will look small and insignificant on paper. For the other half, you need to move on to step two. Ask yourself, what is the worst possible thing that can happen if this fear or worry becomes true? Make a list, yes, write it down on paper underneath your clearly defined worry. Keep writing down everything that comes to mind until you have identified the worst possible outcome. Do you realize that 90% of what we worry about never happens? Think about how much time you spend on worrying about stuff that never will happen. This list will help you see that. Once you have completed your list, resolve in your mind that you will accept the worst possible thing that can happen. Since 90% of those things will never occur and generally the other 10% will not kill you, realize you will survive. Accept the worst possible thing by telling yourself, I can handle it, over and over again. This will start to turn things around. Finally, begin now to make sure the worst never happens. Put together an action plan of exactly what you need to do to turn things around. By focusing on positive changes and implementing your action plan, your focus will shift to the positive outcomes and away from your fears. You will begin to feel better because now you can DO SOMETHING! Positive action is the only cure for fear and worry. Try this formula today and see if it will work for you. It has worked for me. The Roadmap to a Less Cluttered Space

Organising isn't the spice of life but it surely is the meat and potatoes to have the life that can be chock full of spices. Many people find organizing boring or time consuming. Most of the time those same people lack vision of what they'd like their space to represent or they don't know where to get started. How can one spice up organizing their home or spaces in their homes who view the task as worrisome and uninteresting? At a recent NAPO (National Association of Professional Organizers) conference I learned about the wonderful and grand tool of a mind map. It's great for the non-linear thinker or even the linear thinker who may have lost their way in their beloved list making. What is a mind map? Well imagine a word or phrase or topic you are attempting to explore. For our sakes, let's say you want your guest bedroom to serve a dual purpose of a boudoir-away-from-home for your lovely guests and reading room while you're not entertaining overnight lodgers. Without much thought, you could put "My guest bedroom" in the middle of a piece of paper (the bigger the paper the better). Then make off-shoot verbs, nouns, adjectives, or whatever comes to mind when you think guest bedroom. For instance you might simply think "sleep" from that might follow "comfort", then "pillow", "rest", "reading", "well-lit", "soft"... well, you get the picture. Go crazy! Get into it, write words surrounding this topic until your mind feels like it's smoking through your ears. Well, not THAT hard but how about until your paper is surrounded by wonderful and beautiful ideas you never really thought you'd come up with initially if someone just plainly asked you, "So what do you have in mind for this space?" Now here comes the hard part. Look around the room you want to transform and ask yourself: Are any of the words on my mind map translated into this room/space? Probably not right? Hence, the reason you are looking to transform the room in the first place. But now you may be better able to see things in the room that don't fit into the image you've portrayed on your map. You may have said "sleek" and if Fluffy's cat condo is in this room/space you might get an "ah-ha" moment in relocating Fluffy. Sorry Fluffy, you might have to take one for the team. One major thing that you might find it a little hard to believe that I've never seen someone put on their ideas of what they'd like to see in a room is the word clutter. So if you've got a lot of clutter going on it's definitely time to get rid of it. "Well how do I do that?" You ask. You've tried before you say? Well now that you've gotten a vision for your room de-cluttering may go a little smoother than in the past. By using a mind map, you might just find out why and how to put the spice into organizing and in your room which may just happen to be your bedroom. Live in the Washington DC Metro Area? Get Started! Get Motivated!

It is not at all difficult to start a diet that will radically change the way you look, but the hardest thing is to keep yourself motivated along the way and make sure that you do not give up until you reach the goal you set for yourself. Always remember that nothing is impossible and that everything you set your mind to can be attainable. Good things come not to those who wait, but to those who work their asses off and never give up. There are several ways to keep yourself motivated for a longer period of time, but the most relevant is training your mind, as everything starts from uphere and disperses into the whole body. Always keep in mind that real life begins where your comfort zone ends. So get out of your comfort zone, but most of all from your comfy couch where you're reading this article from, find out what motivates you and do something to feel good about yourself! This also helped me and I guess could help you too! Below I will share with you some tips that will definitely motivate you to attain a lean body, hit the gym, maintain a good health and keep yourself happy!!! - Think of foods you can have not the other way round. - Stick a poster with a hot celebrity you admire and keep telling yourself "this is how I want to look 6 months from now". - Take it one step at a time and set yourself short term achievable goals, in order to attain what you want; respecting a diet entails making real lifestyle changes and does not happen over night. - Expect setbacks, as temptations arise, especially on weekends; you can cheat, but do not over do it! - Always start new resolutions on Monday, especially if you were a cheater on weekends; as the week begins you have 7 whole days to stick to your goal; if you're sick of starting over, you have to stop quitting. - Forget about perfection! If you spoiled yourself with caloric boom, do not take it as a failure and give up, but always think tomorrow is a new healthier day and start over. Always choose the correct path and that is the one to success. - Be your own cheerleader and set weekly attainable goals; you can write them on stickers and put them on your desk, mirror, laptop. Your biggest limitations come from your mind not from your body, if the mind strongly believes you can achieve a goal, your body will comply and achieve it! - When your whole body aches and you're all sweaty you know you're doing something right, so don't give up! - Workout, feel good and keep motivated! Eat clean, train mean, get lean!

The Power of "I AM"

Words have the power to create or destroy. The way we use them determines the results they will bring. We repeat negative words concerning situations and events and consequently create more undesirable situations in return. As a child with an unsatisfactory grade on your report card, you thought to yourself, I am not smart. In a competition, you place below first and say, I am not talented. If criticized you believe, I am not good. Looking in the mirror and comparing yourself to peers and movie stars, you tell yourself, I am not attractive. A relationship fails and you think, I am undeserving. Negative affirmations similar to these are repeated constantly through our developmental years and into adulthood and become your core defining self-concept.Overcoming the I am not mentality means you must trust in the power of I am. Joel Osteen said, "What follows the "I AM" will always come looking for you." Each moment our self talk, beliefs and in turn how we feel (the Law of Attraction) creates the course of our lives. The subconscious mind accepts as true what you keep telling it and will then attract corresponding situations into your life. So why would you choose anything but positive statements? What do you want to define your life by? Start by taking an inventory of these things. Then, in your thoughts and imagination, make an intentional shift from I am not or I am hoping - to I am. Sounds simple enough right? In your inner dialogue, change the words you use to define yourself, thus creating a new self-concept. This will steer your mindset away from the I am not mentality. By rewording your inner world, you are taking the first step in fulfilling your dreams and desires.Returning to the negative affirmations we tell ourselves, now with your new inner dialogue...Instead of I am not able to get a job, shift that to I am capable.Or I am unlucky in love becomes I am love.I am unworthy of happiness becomes I am happiness.Instead of saying things like, when I am successful or when I have more money, choose language such as...I am successful.I am abundant and have everything I need. The words I am, have the power to create. They can create a new definition of who you are and what you are capable of. Break the lifelong cycle of negativity and watch as you rise to unimagined heights. If your outer self can accept the limitless power of your inner spirit, then the things placed in your imagination can become reality.Examine YOUR I AM, what are your speaking over in your life? Are your thoughts telling you no before you can even take action? Harness the power of I AM and kick those dreams into high gear!Keri Murphy and the Inspired Living team is on a mission to empower people to use their unique talents in a way that allows them to Dream, Live and BE all that is possible through speaking, coaching, celebrity interviews and original on-line content.
